In the framework of the H2020 European research project “European 5G validation platform for extensive trials” (5G EVE), on June 3rd 2021, Ares2t presented the innovative Urban Mobility Pattern Recognition via 5G Virtualized Network Functions at the International Conference on Transportation Systems Modeling, Applications and Technologies organized by the renowned World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology.
The team, Silvia Canale, Vincenzo Suraci and Elena Vitelaru, has shared the main results from the research activities carried out in the H2020 5G EVE European research project in the city of Turin, Italy. The work has been partly funded by the European Commission through the H2020 project 5G EVE and has showed that 5G is crucial in the identification of near-real-time mobility patterns that are used to manage high-intensity traffic management, mobility service optimization, as well as prevention of traffic peaks and bottlenecks in public transport especially.
